Biography
Mila Laplante is a Canadian dancer and model with experience across competitive dance, television, commercial work, and editorial modelling. She is recognized for her strong stage presence, musicality, versatility, and ability to adapt across both performance and on-camera environments.
Professional Experience
In August 2025, Mila gained international on-camera experience as a cast member on the reality series That Girl Lola with We The Studios in Los Angeles, California, performing in a professional television environment and training within a structured production setting.
In December 2025, Mila expanded into commercial on-camera work as a commercial model and on-camera talent for Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood, Ontario, where she produced promotional video and photographic content for digital and broadcast platforms.
Mila has also built a growing editorial modelling portfolio, with published features in Dent Model Magazine, PM Photo Magazine, Relevé Magazine, and Matilda Model Magazine, where she was selected as a cover model in 2026. She also served as a Brand Ambassador for PM Photography throughout 2025–2026, concluding her role in June 2026.
In 2026, Mila was selected to represent MB Couture’s 2026–2027 dance costume collection in a creative collaboration showcasing the new collection.
Competitive Dance Career
Mila’s competitive dance career, now in its 10th year, includes numerous overall titles, scholarships, special awards, and invitations to national-level events and competitions.
In February 2026, at Flying Solo Dance Challenge, Mila was crowned the 12 & Under Solo Champion, earning the highest overall score among approximately 185 solos across all styles. She also received the Jazz Grand Award for achieving the highest score among more than 150 jazz routines and was named Top Dancer, earning an invitation to compete at Nationals.
In March 2026, at Move Dance, Mila placed 6th Overall in the Intermediate Solo division among approximately 150 solos and received a Special Award for her jazz solo.
In April 2026, at On the Floor, Mila was selected as a Judge’s All-Star Pick, earning the Ultimate Dance Experience Scholarship and an invitation to Nationals. Later that month, at iDance, her jazz solo achieved the highest score of all 12 & Under routines, including solos, duets, trios, groups, and lines, earning a cash scholarship and a Special Award for her technique.
In May 2026, at The Knockout Dance Challenge (TKO), Mila won 1st Overall for her Open Solo and received scholarships to both Rutherford Movement Exchange (RME) and SOL Dance Collective, along with a Special Award for her jazz solo.
In June 2026, Mila was awarded her dance studio’s Annual Scholarship in recognition of her exceptional performance, commitment, work ethic, and positive attitude throughout the 2025–2026 dance year. As the sole recipient selected from the entire studio, the scholarship covers her monthly dance tuition for the full 2026–2027 season.
In July 2026, Mila returned to The Dance Awards, where she was selected as a Junior Best Dancer Finalist for 2026. During the event, she was awarded a Class Scholarship, earning fully paid convention tuition for one convention each at NUVO, JUMP, and 24 SEVEN during the 2026–2027 dance season.
Competitive Foundation
Mila’s competitive foundation includes numerous scholarships and recognitions throughout 2024–2025, including the Dance Masters of Canada Convention Scholarship, Near North Talent Scholarship, and Terpsichore Dance Convention Scholarship. She was also a Regional Winner of the Canadian Dance Awards Ultimate Challenge and earned invitations to Nationals as Top Dancer at Terpsichore Nationals and for the CDA’s America’s Dancer of the Year.
During this period, she trained internationally through the Paris Dance Tour in 2024 and attended leading conventions including NUVO Dance Convention and The Dance Awards in Orlando, where she was named a Best Dancer Finalist in 2025.
Training & Development
Mila trains extensively in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, and tap. She combines technical precision with expressive storytelling, strong musicality, stage presence, and on-camera adaptability.
She continues to develop her career across competitive dance, professional modelling, commercial work, and television, with a focus on professional opportunities in both Canadian and international markets.
